The Image That Never Revealed

(Stop-Motion Series)

This stop-motion work was created using expired Polaroid film, where the emulsion failed to spread and the image never fully appeared. By reusing these so-called “mistake” frames, the project transforms loss and imperfection into a visual narrative.

The sequence tells the story of an image that never revealed itself — evoking the fleeting, elusive nature of photography. Each frame is both incomplete and whole, a fragment of a photograph that resists resolution. Together, they create a rhythm that mimics memory: fragile, unstable, and always slipping away.

The work meditates on the act of waiting for a photograph to appear, only to face absence. In doing so, it reframes failure as possibility, reminding us that even what remains unseen carries its own kind of presence.
